The success of our efforts to respond
to employer needs relies of the strength of our partnerships.
These collaborations are forged to meet the specific skill demands
of businesses and the challenges of preparing workers with the
right mix for success on the job and through their careers.
The Alliances Industry Specific Advisory Councils (ISACs)
are designed to identify employment trends and skill shortages
so that we can develop and implement relevant strategies for
workforce preparation and career advancement by industry sector.
The ISAC employer partnership provides senior executives with
the infrastructure to organize information and improve training
opportunities on the demand side of the labor market. Local
businesses use the ISACs to improve incumbent worker training
systems and develop employee and public sector connections to
industry.
Alliance ISACs represent Hospitality, Retail, Telecommunications
and Technology, Printing and Graphic Communications, Financial
Services and Health Care industry sectors.
Our Association Leadership Committee brings together industry
experts to identify and respond to business needs in these sectors
in light of recent events that have created specific economic
and workforce development challenges for New York City.
The Alliance will regularly post news and reports on labor market
trends, industry sectors, and effective workforce development
practices and model programs. We welcome any news or reports
on industry trends or HR practices that can help service providers
and workforce development policy analysts better understand
employer and industry-specific needs. If you are participating
in a job fair or other recruitment drive, let us know. |
